Pre-booking

Pre-booking online, or by calling 01904 615505, is advisable.

We ask that you arrive on time for your visit. The time you have booked is the time we will start admitting visitors for that slot. In busy times, it may take up to 20 minutes to admit everyone who has booked that slot. Due to our controls on visitor capacity, we are not able to admit visitors who are late, but we may be able to move your visit to another time if there are spaces available.

Pre-booking & refund policy:

If you are not able to visit the attraction for your pre-booked slot we can re-book your visit for a more convenient time. We are not able to offer refunds.

*We require all children (up to and including age 16) visiting JORVIK Viking Centre to be accompanied by an adult. For health and safety reasons, 1 adult may accompany up to 5 children. This is because the capsules on our ride seat up to 6 people. If your party has more than 6 people, we would need to split you over several capsules, and we need an adult to supervise each capsule.

**Maximum of 2 adults per family ticket.

***Please be aware that if you would like to pay with Tesco Clubcard Partner codes please exchange your points for a Clubcard Partner code via your Tesco account. You will receive an email with QR codes. When you arrive, please have your Clubcard Partner code (QR code) ready for us to scan. We will then give you a paper ticket. Please note that Clubcard Partner codes can only be used for single attraction tickets, and are not valid for any discounted or joint tickets. However, you can use them for a family of 4 and a family of 5. Please visit the Tesco Clubcard FAQs page for more.

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, you can help us further by turning your donation into a Gift Aid donation at no extra cost to you, which allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you spend from the Government.

Your payment will be treated as an admission donation that entitles you and your family group to 12 months free admission from the date of payment.

Please note this only applies to individual and family tickets, not larger groups.

Discounts

We offer discounted tickets for NHS staff, members of the Armed Forces, carers and various other groups. Please note from 12th June, we are changing the way you pre-book with discounts, and you may no longer be able to book online.

Access

At JORVIK Viking Centre we want to make sure that we deliver a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all visitors. Find out more about resources and facilities for visitors with disabilities or additional access needs here.

Bags & Suitcases

At JORVIK Viking Centre we are fully aware of our responsibilities as a visitor attraction. In line with advice from our security advisors, additional security measures are in place across our building. We kindly ask that patrons refrain from bringing any large bags or suitcases to the venue as there are no left luggage facilities on site. We also ask visitors to arrive in plenty of time in order for any potential security checks to take place.

Maximum bag size allowed in the building is 38cm x 30cm, includes suitcases.

Exceptions to the rule:

Baby buggies and oversized bags containing necessary medical equipment, or for use in nursing and babycare, will be permitted, subject to the owners agreeing that these items will be searched.

For larger bags, we recommend using Yorbag.

Yorbag left luggage service is located on High Petergate, near to York Minster, and costs from £3. Take your pre-booked ticket for JORVIK Viking Centre to get 20% off the price. You can find out more on the Yorbag website.
