Opening Times
Our planned opening hours for 2026/2027 are as follows. Last admission is 15 minutes before the times shown below. The attraction closes one hour after the final admission time:
1st June – 17th July: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Except for
9th July – 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Last admission at 3:45 PM
18th July – 6th September: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
7th September – 23rd October: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
24th October – 1st November: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
2nd November – 8th November: Closed for Maintenance
9th November – 18th December: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
19th December – 3rd January: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Except for
24th December – 26th December: Closed for Christmas
4th January – 10th January 2027: Closed for Maintenance
11th January – 5th February 2027: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
6th February – 7th February 2027: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

If you are booked into the last time slot, please arrive on time.
You can expect your visit to JORVIK to last around one hour.
York Archaeology welcomes service, assistant and emotional support animals including assistant dogs in training, to access all of the York Archaeology Attractions and sites.

Pre-Booking
Pre-booking is essential and you can do this online, or by calling 01904 615505.
We ask that you arrive on time for your visit. The time you have booked is the time we will start admitting visitors for that slot. Due to our controls on visitor capacity, we are not able to admit visitors who are late, but we may be able to move your visit to another time if there are spaces available.
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your booked time slot.
- There will be signs to show you where to queue when you arrive.
- Your ticket will be scanned when you’re in the queue so please have it ready.

Pre-booking & refund policy:
If you are not able to visit the attraction for your pre-booked slot we can re-book your visit for a more convenient time. We are not able to offer refunds.
