Due to the national lockdown, all JORVIK Group attractions will be closed until restrictions lift. Please follow us on social media for the latest updates.
Coppergate, York YO1 9WT
Unfortunately, as of 5 January 2020, the national lockdown means that JORVIK Viking Centre, and our sister attractions DIG and Barley Hall, must remain closed until restrictions are lifted.
We are owned by York Archaeological Trust, an educational charity with a mission of ‘Building Better Lives Through Heritage’.
We would be hugely grateful for your support helping us raise £120,000 to cover the costs of developing and running our exciting and beneficial new ‘Virtual Vikings’ project.
Virtual Outreach for schools will continue throughout this period, and we have increased capacity for delivering these workshops, so please call 01904 615505 (Mon-Fri 9-12) or email email@example.com to book.
Bookings remain open from 15 February onwards (if lockdown is extended beyond this date, any bookings can be rearranged for a date when we are open); all visits must be pre-booked online or by calling 01904 615505.
Read our safety and social distancing information to find out about our new measures, including restricting the number of people in the attraction, ensuring social distancing and extra hygiene precautions. Our procedures have gained the Good to Go certification from Visit England, so visitors can be assured that we have followed government and industry Covid-19 Guidelines.
